Radiators

Radiator or cooling problems are the most common causes of car breakdowns. The radiators purpose in a vehicle is to maintain an appropriate operating temperature for the engine. It does this by pumping a fluid through the radiator to the engine, where it absorbs and conducts heat away from the engine parts and carries the heat, primarily, to the radiator.

Common radiator problems include leaky fittings, fin deterioration, cracked tanks and sediment build up inside the radiator. If the fins are damaged or corroded, they may leak coolant, leaving the engine vulnerable. As radiators deal with such extreme temperatures, and are left almost unguarded at the front of the vehicle, they are extremely exposed to failure. If radiator problems aren’t addressed, serious engine overheating and damage may occur. Unfortunately leaks from the core or fittings cannot be effectively repaired, and a new radiator core, hose or fitting is usually needed.
